ZAKOPANE KUZNICE
KUZNICE this is one of the most pleasant districts of Zakopane. It's worth taking a walk here. During the high season, I recommend evening walks, when there are no crowds at the cable car station, and in the summer, the sidewalk is mostly full of tourists returning from mountain trips, and in the winter, it can be quite empty after 6 p.m. From the center of Zakopane you can come to Kuznice by bus or minibus, and then walk down back to the centre. You can also book hotel or apartment in Kuznice
KUZNICE - PRACTICAL INFORMATION
I encourage everyone to walk from Kuznice to Jana Pawla II rondabout (2 km) or the center (3.5 km to Krupówki) of Zakopane, especially since the road leads downhill all the time. If you plan to walk back from Kuznice, be sure to choose the route through the Manor and Park Complex of Count Zamoyski (through the park you can go down to the Przewodnikow Tatrzanskich Street, leading to the roundabout). There you will find an outdoor photography exhibition and two small galleries, admission to which is free. One presents a collection of stuffed animals and will certainly be of interest to children and teenagers. The second one is located in a former granary and is dedicated to the Zamoyski family. You can see beautiful old photos of Zakopane here. At the lower exit from the Park there is a symbolic grave of unknown servant
with a cross cast from forged iron - it is one of the oldest monuments in Zakopane. After leaving the park, at Przewodnikow Tatrzanskich Street, pay attention to the Prometheus Shot Monument, designed by Wladyslaw Hasior, and the cross commemorating the place where partisans were shot in 1944. In the clearing on the other side of the street there is a shepherd's hut where you can buy in summer tasty smoked sheep cheese (oscypek).
The Przewodnikow Tatrzanskich Avenue leading from the Jana Pawla II roundabout to Kuznicewhere (among other things) the lower station of the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch is located is closed to car traffic.
Walking from the Jana Pawla II roundabout to Kuznicetakes about 40 minutes (about 2 km), all the time uphill.
The minibus stop is located at ul. Bronisława Czecha, at the Jana Pawla II roundabout. There is a bus stop above the roundabout. Opposite the minibuses stop, there is a taxi rank, and a little further, towards the ski jumps, there is a horse-drawn carriage rank. If you are interested in a horse-drawn carriage or sleigh ride, I encourage you to choose this option on the way back - trotting down from Kuźnice is much more pleasant than slowly climbing 2 km up the hill. And don't forget to negotiate the price of the ride :)
When staying in the center of Zakopane, it is best to take a local bus or a minibus to Kuźnice from one of the stops or order a taxi directly from the hotel.
There is a parking lot for cars and coaches along the Bronislawa Czecha Street. The closest you can get to Kuźnice by private car is Karlowicza Street (closed to buses), where there are several parking lots.
Ski rentals: in Kuznice there are two ski and snowboard equipment rentals, which also offer ski touring equipment.
Tourist trails: in Kuznice starts several popular tourist trails: through Kalatowki and Hala Kondratowa to Giewont; through Boczan or Jaworzynka to Hala Gasienicowa; through the Nosalowa Pass to Nosal or to the Olczyska Valley.
I recommend accommodation in Kuźnicemainly to those tourists who plan to set off on a trip to the Tatra Mountains early in the morning (on foot or by cable car). There are several accommodation facilities in Kuźnice of various standards and prices accommodation in Kuznice .
